Fatal House Fire Press Release - 2021-01-28

On January 27, 2021 at approximately 12:40 pm, the Ewing Police Department received a call from a delivery driver reporting smoke coming from a residence on Beacon Avenue. Police officers responded to find smoke coming from the residence and were quickly alerted by a neighbor that a resident was inside. Officers immediately entered the residence but were driven back by smoke and fire. The Ewing Fire Department along with a rescue truck from Lawrence Township responded to the scene and put out the fire. In the residence, the fire department located one person who was deceased. At this point, the identity of the person in the residence has not been determined. Ewing Police detectives along with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
